A wolf transformation story bgrapehyacinth

“How are we going to get them to get this project done? Those three can't even look at each other without arguing, Fay!” exclaimed Tab Watkins, president of Tayco Incorporated.

Dr. Fay Burns, company psychologist, smiled. “I know just the thing. A business retreat.”

“How the hell with that help?”

“Oh, my friend, this won't be just any retreat. Trust me.”

“A team-building retreat! 'F' that!” cried Jan Mavis, a forty-five year old executive at the firm. She was perfectly coiffed, dressed, and now quite infuriated.

Dr. Burns shuffled her feet under her desk. “Jan, I'm glad to see you're finding other choices than curse words. That's much more businesslike, and it's the first step in our sessions–”

“Lily is a little bitch. She acts like she's still sorority president even though she's twenty-two. And I won't be caught dead spending the night in a cabin with her and that weirdo Datana. What the hell kind of name is that? And you call her a department head? I call her a... a...”

“Words, Jan!”

“Sub...par...moron...” she squeaked, at a loss.

“Sub-par, huh?” Datana now stood in the doorway of the psychologist's office. Thirty-five, single, and proud of it, she tossed back her reddish hair and chuckled. She was well-aware that Dr. Burns was trying to get them to work better together for an important project. She could only imagine how the psychologist would manage this feat. “Datana is the name of a moth. My father was an entomologist.” She removed her glasses and cleaned off a smudge.

When Jan did not bother to reply, Datana questioned if the woman even knew what entomology was.

Seconds later, Lily entered. The svelte brunette started giggling nervously as she listened to Dr. Burns' plans. “Really? We're going camping? Like, what will that do?”

“You three have the best skill sets for this project, so you have to learn to get along. You can't squabble through it or we'll never make the deadline.”

“But we get along fine!” retorted a surprised Lily.

“Right,” Datana snorted under her breath. She wondered how it was possible Lily even possessed a skill set.

“Pack up the essentials. A car will pick you up sometime after eight in the morning. Tomorrow.” She made a nasty smirk. “Bon voyage!”

The few hours traveling in the large limo were uncomfortable for all involved. The little conversation that was had was tense, and usually ended by some denigrating comment from Jan. When the driver dropped them off, he quickly sped away as if happy to be unburdened of his load.

Standing in the dirt roadway in front of a roughly constructed cabin, the three surveyed the thick surrounding woods with dread. “Damn,” Jan mumbled under her breath. They were hours away from civilization, and trekking through the deep forest for hours was simply out of the question. They were stuck.

As they grudgingly entered the cabin, Lily moaned. “Oh, God, how will we live like this?” She gaped at the rudimentary shower and sink that made up the bathroom.

“You're lucky we have running water. Try camping without that!” Datana said.

“What for? Why would I want to do that?”

As the two bickered, Jan walked up to the counter, where a punch bowl sat, fresh ice still bobbing in it. Someone must have been there just before to set up, she assumed. Spying a small note left beside the bowl, she read: “Good luck to you! You'll be a pack in no time!” Two signatures were below it – Tab's and Dr. Burns'.

Datana wrenched the paper from her hand. “What is this? What the hell does it mean?”

“That's some of that psycho-babble from Dr. Burns. Now let's take a taste.” Jan ladled some punch into a cup and drank deeply. She licked at her lips. “Interesting,” she said, but took some more nonetheless. The two other women followed.

“Funny.” Datana shrugged. “It tastes kind of weird, but it's a good weird. There's just this spice or something...cardamom? Licorice?”

“Who cares. As long as it's alcoholic,” Lily slurped it down.

Jan tossed her a withering glance. “My, we're still back in college, aren't we?”

“Bitch,” Lily mumbled into her cup.

“I feel itchy. You think there's bugs here?” Lily pondered.

“Of course there's bugs. You're in the middle of the god-damned forest,” growled Jan as she shook out the sheets on one of three cots that were clustered together in the bedroom. She was grateful that there was bedding. She was half-expecting to have to sleep on a hayloft or worse.

Datana scratched absentmindedly at her legs. “Maybe they have mites or... sand fleas... Damn, I need laser hair removal. I just shaved this morning and I already have stubble!”

Proudly, Jan flipped her hair back. “That's cause you're not blonde. You can't see my stubble even when I have it!”

Datana cursed under her breath.

“It's okay, Datana. I'm all stubbly too. We must need new razors,” Lily added with an uncharacteristic weak grin.

However, as Jan smoothed the ratty pillowcase out, she noticed several light hairs on the back of her hand. Maybe that bastard Tab had slipped hair-growth vitamins into the punch? She would not have put it past him. Or maybe the hairs had always been there and she'd never noticed...

She chose to remain silent on the subject. It wasn't anyone else's business.

As they continued to set up the room, Jan suddenly shed the light jacket she was wearing. “I'm so hot! I can't stand it!” she announced, dumping it onto the cot. Datana and Lily could not help but agree. Despite the crisp fall air, both women were starting to sweat. They quickly removed their own outerwear and tossed it onto a lone chair that sat in the corner.

When the room was set up to their liking, the three stood gaping at each other. “What next?” asked Lily.

“Dr. Burns said to hike up to some lake. It's a couple of hours away. She said it'll be therapeutic and to just follow the trail outside,” replied Datana.

“Why the hell would I do that?” exclaimed Jan in outrage.

“What else are you going to do here?”

Jan pulled out an issue of 'Glamour'. “I'll read this.” She settled down on the cot.

“Well, I'm going,” Lily ventured outside. “The air's really sweet out here,” she called to them. “And you can hear every nature sound for miles around. Birds, bugs, worms...”

“Worms? How the hell does she hear worms?” spat Jan.

With a disapproving glance at the older woman, Datana traipsed after Lily, slamming the door behind her.

In the perfect silence, Jan aimlessly perused the photos of models, but strangely, they no longer held any interest for her. Scratching at her face, she was further shaken to find it slightly fuzzy. Withdrawing her hand, she muttered, “peach fuzz. A sign of getting older,” reassuringly to herself.

Still feeling unsettled, she finally tossed down the magazine and rose. She hated to admit it, but Lily was right. There was something in the air...something that she'd never noticed before...The outside was beckoning to her.

Before she could stop herself, she had rushed into the woods. Datana and Lily were not far. She knew this not because she could see them, but because she could smell them.

“What the hell?” she uttered. It was not the scent of their perfume.  It was an earthy odor, and she could tell the difference in scents between that of Lily and that of Datana. “What the hell?” she repeated again, but she meant it in true wonder. What was this all about?

As she started up the trail, she tried to scratch at her feet, but they felt so bound by her sneakers that she yanked them off in frustration. Rubbing furiously at her soles, she quickly removed her socks to get at them better.

Her feet felt so nice in the cool sand... She stretched out her toes and studied her toenails. When had they grown so long and...pointy? She ran her finger over one and winced. “Weird!” she whispered. As she relished the feeling of the sand running between her toes, something stirred deep inside her.

She smelled deer, she smelled squirrels and birds and trees...

The wind taunted her with its gusts...

A burst of unexplainable joy enveloped her. She stretched her arms into the air, half-noticing that her hands and fingernails seemed slightly different. But no matter. She simply had to run!

She darted down the dirt path, faster than she had ever gone, and the rocks and gravel she trampled did not bother her in the least. It was completely natural, and the bottoms of her feet felt different...

Her legs felt leaner, more muscled, and she didn't have to worry about balancing on five-inch stilletos anymore...

She felt more alive than she had in decades.

“Everything's so...bright and sharp!” Lily uttered, looking all around her in awe. “But at the same time everything's like...grayer? Did you notice that?”

“Yes, maybe it's the kind of trees that grow around here or something, but, well, my glasses are dirty–” She fumbled with them to take them off, wondering why her fingers weren't quite as dexterous as they usually were. When she was successful, she drew in a deep breath. “What? I...I think I see better now? I don't understand...”

“What are you talking about?”

“Why do I see better without my glasses? I'm blind as a bat.”

Lily paused and studied Datana's eyes. “I can't say I always look at your eyes, but...I think they're...different? The color's changing? I don't...”

“Oh, Lily, how is that even possible? They look different probably because we're standing here in the sun, I assume.”

Not removing her gaze immediately, Lily simply replied, “huh. Cool.”

Tucking her glasses into her pants pocket and shaking her head in confusion, Datana resumed her stride, and Lily followed suit. However, they had not gotten very far before Datana sat down on a log and began to fiddle clumsily with her laces. “Sorry, Lily. I don't know what's gotten into me. I cannot wear these anymore!”

But when she looked towards her companion, she was amused to see that Lily was already barefoot. “They're so tight...and itchy!” Lily exclaimed, arranging her socks and sneakers neatly at the foot of the log. “I'll come get them on the way back.”

With something near pleasure, Datana stripped off her shoes and socks. It was such a relief to feel the cool air against her bare skin... She almost wished she could take off her pants too...

When Jan caught up to the other two women, she was astonished to see them laughing instead of battling. She chose not to mention this, instead letting out a guffaw as she saw that both Datana and Lily were also barefoot.

“I feel freer like this, somehow!” Lily exclaimed, making a silly gallop down the path.

“Hey, did your toenails always look like that?” Jan asked, examining Datana's feet and comparing them with her own.

Datana halted, gaping at her feet. They seemed smaller, thinner, somehow, and her nails had darkened and lengthened. “Uh...no...” she whispered, touching them hesitantly. “And I swear I'm getting even hairier...forget stubble...”

Jan rubbed her own feet. Light nearly-white hairs like she'd seen on her hands were now growing all around her foot, even between her toes. She jumped back in fright. “What is this?” she whispered.

Lily re-joined them, staring at Jan's feet. “You think that's bad?” She looked down at her torso. “I'm getting chest hair. I swear it!” she said in a worried voice.

Appearing calmed by Lily's announcement, Jan murmured, “I think we're all getting hair in weird places. I think Tab and Dr. Burns put those 'hair, skin, and nail' vitamins in that punch. Why, I don't know."

At the same time, she and Datana looked into Lily's face and gasped.

“Lily, you're growing whiskers!” shrieked Datana.

All of the color draining from her slightly-furry face, Lily fingered the bumps around her mouth, pulling back her hand in amazement as it met with a set of whiskers. “And my nose...it's getting...”

“Darker?” Datana cut in.

“Bigger,” said Lily.

Jan scratched at her ear. “I think my ear is getting pointy...”

The three stared at each other, wide-eyed. “Forget vitamins! What the holy hell was in that punch?” Jan burst out, and, since no one had an answer, they continued to walk, observing each other and speculating as to what was going on.

Jan stopped momentarily, putting her hands to the ground.

“What are you doing?”

“I don't know why, but this feels good. Try it,” Jan replied, stretching contentedly on all fours.

Both Lily and Datana followed her lead, agreeing wholeheartedly. As they straightened up, Lily dropped back down, flattening her palms to the ground. “Not only does it feel...right, I swear my legs got shorter. Seriously.”

The three continued on, putting their hands and feet to the ground more and more often. Yet each woman seemed to be relaxing, and their obviously-changing bodies didn't seem to bother them as much. In fact, as Datana was the first to sport a tail, the three stood fascinated by its rhythmic wagging. “Is it hard to control?” Lily asked.

“No, it's just like moving your arms or legs.”

“I think I'm getting one too.” Lily wrenched off her pants, watching a tail push against her underwear until it ripped through. She giggled, and tossed away the remnants of the torn undergarment.

All three were shocked to see that chestnut-colored fur was now covering anything that Lily's underwear had been meant to cover. “I'm getting such nice fur!” She stroked her silky coat, and smiled. “Do your teeth feel funny?”

Baring her fangs, Datana uttered, “Mine feel pointier.”

“My feet feel even weirder,” Lily patted the sole of her foot with a hand that was growing more paw-like. “The bottoms feel itchy.”

Jan held up her foot for them to see. “Oh, you're getting pads in! How cute!”

“You have them already, Jan,” Datana breathed.

Jan turned her foot to examine a fine set of pinkish pads. “No wonder it doesn't hurt when I run barefoot!”

“Are we turning into dogs?” asked Lily hopefully. “I'd be so cute as someone's pet!”

“We're turning into wolves,” Jan breathed in sudden realization. “The note said we'd be a 'pack', remember? I guess whatever did it was in the punch. Never thought it was possible, but here we are,” she pulled at her own tail, “becoming wolves as we speak. And I should be pissed at that bastard Tab, but you know what? I'm not! I've never felt so great! I'm so...alive!”

“And you're shrinking, Jan,” Datana pointed out.

“How do you know?” But Jan did not need an answer. Her pants fell to the ground at that very moment, and the trees seemed much larger.

“You're shrinking too, Datana!” Lily cried with delight.

Datana watched the ground grow closer to her eyes, and she realized that something else was shrinking. “Well, I never thought I'd be happy about this, but my breasts are getting smaller also.”

Lily giggled, crossing her arms. “I feel that too.”

Jan glanced down at her own diminishing chest. She had always been so proud of it, but now she was surprisingly happy to see it go. “Well, I won't be needing this!” she exalted, and removed her shirt with a flourish. The other women copied her, tossing their shirts onto a grassy area beside the trail.

With excited shouts, the three transforming women raced down the path, stripping off the rest of their clothing. “Look in the sand, Datana! Your footprints are nearly wolf-prints! You got your pads in too!” Lily yelled.

Datana paused long enough to study her new footprints. Then she burst down the path, making many more. She was still alternating between two legs and four legs, and it did feel odd. But her body wanted to be quadrupedal. It simply needed to be.

When they reached the lake, their nakedness no longer held any meaning. For by then, they were covered in fur from head to toe. Jan held the last bunch of her prized blonde hair in her hand. “I never thought I'd be happy to lose my hair!” She tossed it into the woods with abandon. Datana and Lily smiled at Jan's furry head. She had been the last to lose her human hair.

It was nearing dark, and, as expected, a full moon graced the sky. “Perfect night to turn into wolves, right?” Jan smirked, hands and feet on the ground.

“My God, I just...want...to howl!” Lily looked as if she would burst.

“Me, too!” Jan exclaimed.

“Well soon I think that's all we'll be able to do.” Datana rubbed her growing snout against Lily's scruff. “You smell so nice...”

Jan stared at her body. She tottered as she tried to balance back up on only two legs. “I'm so close...” Her snout had filled out, her hands and feet were now truly four furry paws... “Oh, my God! I want this so much! Finish changing, damn it!” she shrilled at her shrinking body. Her limbs were thinning, and as her feet shortened further, she was completely forced onto all fours. “Yes!” she cried in true elation.

“Oh my God!” Datana shrilled, her body giving a final lurch which threw her onto all fours next.

Lily watched her companions with envy until an ecstatic rush coursed through her own body, stretching her, shaping her, and pushing her into a final perfect quadruped form. “I feel so...RRRRRROOOWWLLL!”

Her new friends were unable to respond except for their own howls, and with a combined, terrific roar that rocked the night, the three dove into the lake. They splashed, swam, and howled in exaltation.

And from the lake, three perfect wolves emerged into the evening.

And the night was theirs... They ran with each other, the smells of the earth on the breeze, the moon smiling down on them proudly. They were now part of nature – powerful females declaring the forest as their own with their frightful wolf-calls.

The smell of prey wafted on the midnight air, making them ravenous. They stalked a group of deer, and Lily, the smallest of the three wolves, took one down in expert fashion. As she shared the feast with her pack, a larger group of wolves threatened to steal their kill, but Datana drove them off singlehandedly.

They hunted, feasted, and played through the night. And finally, as dawn neared, the three huddled down together in a hollow. Fatigued from their adventures, they fell asleep, their furry bellies full to the brim.

They awoke midday, the sun beating down on their changed bodies. Groggily, Jan opened her eyes and scanned the scene. All three were entwined together as they had fallen asleep, but Lily was twitching slightly, and Datana moaned.

She stood up on all fours, watching her coat glisten in the sun. Sadly, she saw that she was shedding profusely, and she wondered if the changes were beginning to reverse.

Lightly, she tapped at the two other she-wolves to rouse them. Datana growled deep in her throat, and opened one eye. Lily bounced up, happy in her discovery that she was still an animal.

Jan made a sad mewl, pointing to the fur that was falling from all their coats.

Lily's eyes glistened, and Datana rose, inhaling the forest scents for what would be the last time.

They made their way back to their cabin, more and more fur falling from their growing bodies. They were loath to return to upright position, but their changing skeletons soon forced them to.

Lily emitted a human cry as her tail receded. She held onto it for dear life, but this merely resulted in a chunk of fur between her fingers and a sharp pain in her backbone.

And soon, as they walked along, they were able to speak once more.

“You know, I should be embarrassed that I'm naked, but I don't care,” Jan commented in a contented voice.

With disinterest, Datana looked down at her body. “Me neither.”

“The sun feels nice on my skin,” Lily added. “Although I do wish I still had my fur. It was so...luxurious! Actually, seems like it's not all gone,” she studied her naked form. There was some residual hairiness in the expected places. “I really need a shave now.”

“Hopefully that'll go away over the next few days. Otherwise I'm getting the company to pay for that laser hair removal we were talking about,” Jan chuckled, inspecting her very-furry underarm.

“My feet and hands are still dirty too,” smiled Datana, wiping at her palms. “All that running... we could run so fast when we were wolves...”

“It was awesome,” uttered Datana with some remorse. “Truly a wonderful...gift.”

“You and Lily were awesome! The way you scared off those other wolves, and the way you caught us a meal, Lily?”

“I should feel bad about killing...” Lily began, “But it was for food. I hope it wasn't a horrible death for the poor deer.”

“I ate a raw animal,” Jan stated. “And before this, I would have been so disgusted by that. Now I think the whole experience was amazing, and you guys are just...great!”

“And you're acting less bitchy, Jan!” Datana made a mischievous smile.

“I'm sorry with the whole power-trip thing. I guess the position got to my head. Tab was right in making us a 'pack'. I think we'll work great together. We sure did as wolves,” Jan said apologetically.

“I wonder what they put in the punch. Was it a potion? A transformation serum? I can't believe any of this was real! And when it was happening, I was kind of accepting of it. Not freaking out or anything...”

“I guess that was part of whatever was in the punch. Thank you Tab and Dr. Burns.”

Silence ensued, and they all looked glum at the thought of returning to their everyday routines. “I don't want to get back to work quite yet,” moaned Lily.

The three studied each other.

“Last one to drink from the punchbowl is a rotten egg!” Datana screeched, and with several howls, the three ran all the way back to the cabin, picking up their discarded clothes wherever they chanced upon them.

After reading part 3 first is like me reading the prequels, and surprisingly enough it was fresh and really unexpected in many ways the whole being wolf description, it is a very worthwhile read.
